40 Affirmations to Keep You Focused on Your Goals

I have always been an extremely goal oriented person. I’ve found that if I am not working toward some goal, some sort of self improvement or experience I want to have, I am unhappy, unfocused, and feel like my life is just passing me by. This feeling has only been increased by the fact that I am an ambitious woman in her early twenties in the middle of a global pandemic where it feels like my whole life has been put on pause. Even though the situation can be super frustrating, it’s also become a time where I can really develop and focus on my many huge (seemingly impossible) goals.

Currently, I’m working on building this blog and creating a community to go along with it. I’m also leaning more into my academic nature, working through an extensive reading list and trying to mentally prepare myself to pursue a graduate degree and maybe even becoming a university professor someday. To satisfy my creative side, I’m planning to finish the first draft of a novel this year. I’ve always seen myself as a writer, and need to get myself writing more often. I’m also prioritizing my health in a way that I never have before, having lived a very indulgent and sedentary life up until this point. On top of it all, I am still working full time (remotely) to save up for graduate school. 

Needless to say, I’ve got a lot going on, both physically and mentally. Sometimes it feels impossible to keep moving forward, especially when I lose sight of my goals. This is where these affirmations come in! Every day, I try to focus on one affirmation. I read it, say it, and live it, as much as I possibly can that day. These affirmations help me reorient myself, especially after falling off of the many bandwagons I’m currently trying to stay on, and keep me moving toward the life I want to live. 

I’ve compiled this list of affirmations from affirmations or quotes I’ve seen online that really stuck with me and helped improve my mood and mindset. I hope, after reading some of my previous posts, you all have a goal you’re working on. Something you’re trying to accomplish for yourself, to make yourself happy. These affirmations aren’t tailored to specific goals like weight loss, building a savings, or writing a book. They are affirmations to help you become sure of yourself and accomplish whatever goal you’re striving for. I am also not advocating for the endless hustle mindset that I see often online, especially in female empowerment spaces. Rest and recovery are just as important as hard work and pushing yourself. Don’t force yourself into burn out. My hope is that this list of affirmations will help you stay focused on your goals in a helpful, constructive, and motivating way. Above all else, I hope that the life you want to live becomes your reality.
